History and development
The foundation for the success of Van de Kamp BV was laid in 1930, the year that Joep van de Kamp in Maasbommel started a transport company for cattle, fodder and baskets. In those days the area between the rivers Maas and Waal flourished not only due to the agriculture but also the basket industry. The baskets were made of osiers. Which grew along the banks. Germany an Belgium were big markets in those days and soon Joep van de kamp became an international transport company.
In the nineteen sixties the company started to specialize in the transport of furniture. This turned out to be a good move: in 1963 four employees were working for the transport company, which had five lorries. Now in 2009 there are more than eighty employees and forty-five tractor units.
